Lucky 2012 Artist Schedule Announced

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…

Well were only 15 days away from Lucky 2012, after waiting months for the artists set times USC decided to finally announce them today. I was a little nervous at first because I didn’t think I was going to be able to catch all my favorite artists in one night. I am personally very happy with the set times, I feel that USC couldn’t have done a better job. I am sure many people would disagree with me, but I guess it depends on who you really want to see. My plan assuming I come in around 9:30 is to head to the lucky arena for the first 3 ½ hours to catch Manufactured Superstars, Hardwell, and Porter Robinson. Then I was planning on jumping over to the leprechaun’s lair to catch Flux’s hour set, then heading back to lucky arena to finish the night off with Calvin Harris. There are some issues though assuming I follow this plan I am going to miss ATB and Adventure Club, not a big fan of ATB but Adventure Club would be awesome to see. What should I do? Stay tuned and check back in a couple weeks to see what artist I actually end up seeing and my thoughts on Lucky 2012.

What happened to Aoki?

Steve Aoki is one of my favorite artists, his music opened my eyes up to the world of electronic dance music. I was so excited for his latest album "Wonderland" which was released January 10th of this year. I downloaded it immediately and started to listen to it and wasn't very impressed, I decided to not quite judge it and keep listening it to a few more weeks. Well here we are a little more than a month later and I still am not impressed with this album. It just doesn't sound like the classic Aoki whose music I grew to love, I am not trying to say its a bad album but Aoki could do better. I remember getting introduced to Steve Aoki's "I Love Techno 2010" and instantly was blown away by his hour mix. It literally got me hooked into the electronic dance music scene, if anyone has not checked out that mix I highly recommend it. Aoki remains one of my favorite edm artists, but this album did not live up to my expecations. I hope Aoki gets back to his old self and strays away from the mainstream music. I am very excited to see him live at EDC this summer, I know he will put on one hell of a show.

Bonus song on "Wonderland", also my favorite track of 2011

Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland is held in Belgium as an outdoor dancing festival, this is a 3 day festival usually held in late July. Some of the first artist that showed up to this event were Push (M.I.K.E.), Armin Van Buuren, Cor Fijneman and technoboy. Tomorrowland is one of the biggest music festivals in the world; going to this would be a dream for anyone that loves electronic dance music. The 2011 lineup was incredible with artist like David Guetta, Tiesto, Cosmic Gate, Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Swedish House Mafia, and many more! This festival looks absolutely insane, I am extremely jealous of Europe and anyone that is attending in 2012. I hope one day to attend this festival, but for now I can only hope.

If this video doesn't give you goosebumps I don't know what will.
